Bethel Bible College

Bethel Bible School is the first Pentecostal Theological Institution in India. The Division of world Missions of the Assemblies of God in the United States of America has established BETHEL BIBLE SCHOOL in 1927, as the official theological training institution of the Malayalam District council of the South India Assemblies of God. It was pioneered under the able leadership of the Rev. John H. Burgess, who came to India with the message of Pentecostal experience. Bethel Bible School was opened in June 1927, at Mavelikkara, offering a three year training for ministry. Later, the Bible school was temporarily shifted to other locations and finally to the present premises at Punalur in the year 1950.

Bethel Bible College has been consistently growing academically according to the needs of the church. A certificate course was offered in the beginning .A one year training for ministry was offered for women. In 1982 The Board of Directors decided to upgrade the School to College level by introducing Bachelor of Theology (B. Th.), which was accredited by Asia Theological Association in 1985. Ever since, this institution is known as Bethel Bible College. As a major leap in the development of Bethel College, a Master of Divinity (M. Div.) programme was introduced in 1995 and subsequently accredited by the ATA. The Master of Theology (M. Th.) programme was commenced in 2005 and accredited by ATA in 2012.

Under the able leadership of the former principals, Rev. John H. Burgess, Rev. C. Kunjummen, Rev. Earl Stubbs, Dr. John S. Thannikkal, Dr. P.S. Philip, Rev. Dr. T.P. Varghese and the present Principal Rev. K. J. Mathew, the College has trained hundreds of able ministers for the Kingdom of God. The uniqueness of this institution is that it has been blessed by a team of educated and committed teachers. Bethel Bible College is highly esteemed for its academic excellence and mission emphasis.

ASIA EVANGELICAL COLLEGE & SEMINARY

INDIA EVANGELICAL CHURCH TRUST:
In response to a vision given by God in 1970s to two missionaries, Rev. Dr. Y. John Chung and Mrs. Gloria Chung who had been in various cities in India for a number of years (in 1984 Bombay, and later in Madras, Salem, Cochin, Calcutta and other places), they were led to found and register the India Evangelical Church Trust in Bangalore in 1990.

ASIA EVANGELICAL COLLEGE & SEMINARY:
In the year 1989, they had also established the IEBC College. Before this, they started MTC in Bombay in 1984, and a Christian School in Salem in 1983.  Later on convinced that they were called not only to minister to the people of India, though that was primary and in particular, they realized that the College should be a living instrument for preparing committed and dedicated young men and women from neighboring countries also, to be pastors, evangelists and church planters, and leaders in Christian institutions for the task of evangelization of the whole of Asia.  As such, the IEBC College was renamed ASIA EVANGELICAL COLLEGE & SEMINARY

PRIMARY MISSION:
The primary aim and goal of establishing the ASIA EVANGELICAL COLLEGE & SEMINARY was and continues to be that along with the pursuit of academic excellence in theological disciplines the equipping and training of the students for the ministry called for spiritual nurture and growth towards Christ likeness.

ACTS Academy

ACTS Group of Institutions (formerly known as ACTS Ministries) was started as ACTS Institute in Bangalore in 1979, by Dr Ken Gnanakan and his wife Prema, on their return from England, where Ken had just completed his PhD at London University. Along with his brother, Dr Richard Gnanakan, they built ACTS from a small institute into the large organization it is today, with work spread across India.

ACTS is an acronym for Agriculture, Crafts, Trades and Studies and the vision has remained strong over the last three decades. Today, ACTS is committed to total development through projects that revolve around education, environment and health programmes.
